Graphical Intranet Monitoring System for Multinational Computer Manufacturer
The customer services division of a large multinational computer manufacturer wanted to be able to monitor the performance of teams of people working within it. Beforehand, a manual system was being utilised, the results of which were paper based. This process was time-consuming and difficult to manage.
The company decided to use a Java visualisation of a team dashboard on the company Intranet. A number of measurable items were identified together with an appropriate layout for the 'controls'. Each week the performance measurements were created automatically and transferred to the Intranet server. This enabled both managers and team members to instantly view their performance and target under-performing areas.
The system resulted in a reduction of administrative overhead and the ability to monitor team performance without the previous effort or delays.
